I am a Christian woman in my mature/senior years, who has a calling and desire to serve, work with and alongside my community. Why do I say this? For as long as I can remember working with, serving and supporting my community has been a big part of my life. From my early days in primary school being on a fundraising committee and continuing in some form or another right through to my current senior years, volunteering @ my local church etc. Even while working full time, I maintained a level of volunteering. It was when I was asked to write a short bio, and a couple of other things that cropped up recently, that I now realised it is a calling in my life, it is a part of me.  I don’t always get it right, heck no, but that’s life’s lessons, isn’t it. In saying this I want to add that: volunteering and serving my community is a selfish act, because I get a lot more out of it than I put into it.
