Laurence Saunders and his wife Kate have lived and worked in the Onkaparinga area for over 35 years. As well as retraining as a carer, Laurence spent the previous 25 years as a delivery driver for Buttercup & Farmers Union. Dismayed at the amount of food wastage, Laurence joined the Facebook group ‘Adelaide Community Food Network‘ in the hope he could help people with free food. After 3 years of helping out with food giveaways all over Adelaide but mostly based in the South, Laurence took over as admin of the group. It was at this time he became involved with Healthy Cities Onkaparinga and then the Onkaparinga Food Security Collaborative. Laurence hopes his experiences with some of our communities most vulnerable members will give him a better understanding of how the OFSC can contribute to the Onkaparinga area.
